Posted an update on my site on the subject of knitting, tea and the web. It only sounds more exciting than it is. Which got me to create a an LJ RSS feed for my posts at nil8r.net and (aptly named nil8rnet ).
I still haven't figured out the focus of my blog there, but I suspect it will evolve into my writing on subjects that I'm willing to have publicly published (ie. gaming, scooters, general life observations, tech, fashion, or whatever else I'm passionate about in that moment). What I don't want to focus on is work (see my operation email blog for that or LJ) or highly personal subjects, which is a better fit for conversation or LJ-friends).
I noticed that my Windows Live account isn't sync'ing to my phone anymore (seems to be a known bug w/ Win Mobile 6 and Motorola Q). Not certain if it's the ATT/Motorola software or a Windows Live Account problem. My workaround is that I have hotmail forwarding my email to my nil8r.net account. Which is actually more convenient as I check email on my mobile devices 80% of the time instead of the web. I also check my bluemel at gmail account regularly and haven't had any sync issues so far with any non-hotmail accounts. The problem with having a work/play combined phone (or rather the inconvenience) is that Expedia has strict password policies, so my phone auto-locks and requires a password to do anything other than answer a call or dismiss a meeting reminder. At least the full qwerty keyboard makes typing that Caps/alphanumeric/symbol password a bit easier. I still have my work blackberry, but my Q has superior doc handling capabilities. So, essentially the blackberry is now a glorified pager for the email ops team.
It makes me a bit nervous to think how dependant I've become on technology. I need my debit cards to purchase necessities, from accounts that I rely on auto-deposit to keep me "in the green," or the web/auto pay features in order to keep my household and lifestyle functioning (bills, yo!). Heck, I rely on the web/tech in order to have groceries delivered, not to mention the other types of online shopping I do. It's a lot more of a co-dependant relationship than when I was a kid and just did my homework on my Apple IIe because it was available.
